Ten years ago we started the Driftwood Dash & Paddle as a low-key, community, fitness event on Lake Tapps, Washington to support Nepalese youth in partnership with Nepal Orphans Home. Over the years we’ve raised thousands of dollars to fund education for orphaned and impoverished youth in Nepal. In the wake of the devastating earthquakes of 2015, the following economic crisis, and the current COVID-19 pandemic, funding for education in Nepal is more critical than ever.
At Life’s Handy Work we prefer to fundraise through events that grow and celebrate our community and bring people closer together. In light of the current pandemic restrictions, we have been forced to think outside the box. This year we hope you will join us to walk, run, hike, bike, swim or paddle for Nepal from your own neck of the woods.
The Virtual Dash & Paddle Fall Fitness Challenge is simple; Go outside, get moving and log your miles. You can choose from traditional, one day events like a 5k, 10k, half marathon or marathon or you can choose to log your miles throughout the month to hit a mileage goal of your choice.
